Pieces of Me
Welcome to Pieces of Me, my little space where I hope to make a BIG impact! Growing up in a special needs family, I was profoundly inspired by my big brother, Nick, whose journey with a rare disability shaped my life’s mission. As a lifelong advocate, I founded Puzzle Pieces, a nonprofit in Owensboro, KY, that serves over 400 individuals with disabilities, offering comprehensive, whole-life services. Through my work as an author, speaker, and sibling, I am committed to empowering those with disabilities, sharing my story, and advocating for inclusion. Whether it’s through my children’s books, my new sibling memoir, or my gift collection, my goal is to inspire those with disabilities, along with their families and caregivers, by sharing my passion and journey.

“Through Puzzle Pieces, you have given love and hope to your clients and their families when hope seems to fade away. You give them a happy and safe place to go. You help them experience life in ways they may not otherwise be able to.
You inspire me and I am so incredibly grateful that our paths crossed!”

“Amanda’s personal journey as a sibling to a brother with special needs, combined with her expertise as the founder of a nonprofit supporting individuals with disabilities, provides invaluable insights into the challenges and joys of dual parenthood. Her direct sibling experience gives me insight into what my neurotypical daughter may feel and experience as she grows up alongside her brother.”
— Chelsea
“Owen the Wonderer is an amazing book for children, teaching awareness and how to simply just be a good friend! In this world we all are different — that’s what makes it beautiful! If we were all the same it would be boring! I would love to see this book in every elementary school to help promote awareness and how to simply be a good friend to all your peers. This is a must read for every child!”
— Kelly
